About

We’re Brittany and James – an Australian-American couple whose story began in 2016 on the Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile (800 km) pilgrimage from southern France to northwestern Spain. What started as chance encounters along the trail became a whirlwind love story that brought Brittany from the USA to Australia, where we’ve since built our life together by the sea in Balnarring Beach.

Yoga was something we each practiced individually, but since being together it has become an important part of our life as a couple. It grounds us through the changes of travel, work, and everyday life, and it reminds us to choose presence, play, and joy – both on and off the mat.

Since that first adventure, we’ve traveled to more than 40 countries together. Travel continues to shape how we live and what we teach: stepping outside our comfort zones, finding connection in new places, and discovering joy in the journey itself.

Today we share this love of practice and adventure through More Joy Wellness, creating classes, workshops, and retreats that invite you to connect more deeply with yourself, with others, and with the world.

Brittany

Brittany’s yoga journey wasn’t love at first sight…it was love at first flight. After years of casually rolling out her mat, she found herself flying in a silk hammock in 2016, discovering the magic of aerial yoga. That moment of flight reminded her that movement could be both grounding and liberating, both mindful and wildly playful. It was the practice that reawakened her curiosity and inspired her to dive deeper into the magic of yoga.

Since then, Brittany has completed over 700 hours of accredited training, studying in Indonesia, India, and the United States with teachers who shaped her understanding of yoga as both a science and an art. Her studies span hatha, vinyasa, yin, aerial (of course), SUP, and restorative. The diversity in her practice reminds her, and her students, that yoga can meet us anywhere – in our energy, our stillness, and everything in between.

Brittany’s teaching celebrates playfulness, experimentation, and joy beyond the comfort zone. Her classes are an invitation to explore movement as a form of self-discovery, to soften the rules, and to remember that joy itself is a practice.

James

For James, yoga is an invitation to explore how the body moves, how the mind responds, and how the two can meet in harmony. What began as a search for strength and stillness soon became a lifelong practice of presence and play.

James has completed 500 hours of accredited yoga training, studying in Indonesia and India, and practicing all across the globe. His teaching blends thoughtful alignment with a sense of playfulness, encouraging students to move intuitively, explore their edges, and rediscover the joy of simply being in a body.

In every class, James helps his students remember that yoga is less about achieving the perfect pose, and more about cultivating awareness, curiosity, and connection. Whether guiding a grounding flow or an energising practice, he invites students to find balance through mindful movement and to remember that play is a powerful form of meditation.
